"Stockholm" is the seventeenth episode of the sixth season in the remake version of S.W.A.T., and the one-hundred-twenty-third episode overall, which was aired on March 31, 2023.

Summary[]

SWAT teams up with the FBI to hunt one of its most-wanted fugitives. Also, Hondo and Nichelle are faced with an unexpected development in her pregnancy.

Recap[]

Nichelle’s water broke. She went into labor a full three weeks before her due date. Nichelle began panicking and it was Hondo who remained calm.

Hondo reminded her that they already packed their go bag. They also babyproofed the house. The only thing left was to have the baby. They went to the hospital and they called their parents. Hondo’s parents were out of town, but they were coming back for the birth. Nichelle’s parents were actually in town because Nichelle was supposed to go shopping for a rocking chair with her mom earlier that day. Hondo wasn’t on the best terms with his in-laws. They looked down on his house, his background, and his job. They also felt it was Hondo’s duty to bend over backwards to please them.

Only Hondo respectfully reminded them that he was on a grown man. He wasn’t going to change anything about himself to win over their approval. They hadn’t liked that and they had stormed out during a nasty confrontation. And so Hondo had to push that all to the side so that Nichelle would have her parents with her when she needed them the most.

Deacon was in charge in Hondo’s absence. He was the lead when a case literally fell into their lap. Tan and Alexis were having lunch when they witnessed a car accident and they found a teenage girl with a gun in one of the cars. Her name was Jane Cruz. She had been kidnapped with her sister, Natalie.

They were both taken by a guy they called “Jax”. They met Jax when they went to buy illegal booze. They couldn’t get it on their own and so Jax approached them under the guise that he would help them buy the alcohol.

Jax claimed to have left his wallet in his car. The girls walked with him back to this car and that was the last thing they remembered before they woke up in a dungeon with seven other girls.

The girls later found themselves pimped out to a bunch of men. They were taken one by one to meet with johns. Jane saw an opportunity to overpower one of her handlers on one of these trips. She took it and then she tried to get help. She managed to find Tan and Alexis by accident and SWAT took over her case. They agreed to help her get her sister back.

Jane stole the gun from her handler to kill him with it. The DNA they found on the gun was a match for the dead guy as well as for Eli Wyatt. Wyatt was the person Jane called Jax. He was also wanted for human trafficking by the FBI. The FBI came close to arresting him ten years ago when he managed to kill one of their own before escaping. He was a wanted fugitive. Jane’s witness statement was the first bit of good news the FBI has had in this case for ten years and so they rushed in to take over. And they made a critical mistake while doing so.

They made this case personal. It was one thing when they bulldozed their way onto the case, but they also managed to stop SWAT as SWAT was making real progress. The FBI stopped SWAT from raiding the house at the first opportunity. This alerted the bad guys inside that they were there and so it started a blood bath. Wyatt’s people began firing at the agents. They set off some explosives. SWAT had to take over and SWAT went in and rescued seven girls. They also arrested Wyatt’s people. They just didn’t get Wyatt.

Wyatt escaped in the chaos with Natalie. The team were trying to figure out why he took Natalie with him. They theorized that he took her as a backup hostage and that she was his insurance policy if they got too close to him. Only Wyatt has been doing other strange stuff. Wyatt has been calling his “mother” every week. His real mother died when he was a teenager. He was actually calling the mother of the person he stole his identify from. Jax Evans. The real Jax had been Wyatt’s cell mate during a stint in prison. And he disappeared around ten years ago.

The same time that Wyatt needed a new identity and he also needed a place to stay. He took over Jax’s identity. He also made nice with Jax’s mom because it was her house that he outfitted as a fortress. Wyatt actually visited Jax’s mother when he was on the run. SWAT was too late to arrest him only he was recognized at the retirement home. He went to grab his stash before disappearing again. He was also seen with Natalie. Natalie wasn’t his hostage. She believes they’re in love. It turns out Jane hasn’t been telling the full truth. Jane later admitted that Wyatt took a shine to Natalie while they were held captive and that she barely got to see her sister after that.

Jane confessed that she told her sister she planned on escaping. She said Natalie didn’t want to leave with her and that she wanted to stay with Jax. Jane just didn’t mention this before because she was afraid they wouldn’t help get her sister back. Only the police assured her that they were still going to rescue Natalie. Natalie was fifteen. She and Jane’s mother walked out on them. Their father hadn’t cared that they went missing because he never reported them missing and he didn’t even rush back when he found out Jane had been found. He stayed in Reno because he was on vacation. And so the girls were barely loved by their parents.

All they had was each other. Then they got taken and Natalie convinced herself she was in love with her captor to help her get through a traumatic ordeal, but it wasn’t real love. She was just a commodity to Wyatt. Wyatt even went to her house because he wanted to kidnap Jane again. And Alexis stopped him.

Alex held him off long enough for the rest of her team come running to the rescue and they were later able to arrest Wyatt.

Natalie was still messed up only she has her sister and Social Services has agreed that they can stay together. Their father didn’t even bother to fight for them. He was staying in Reno because he liked there. And there was still signs of their mother.

And Nichelle had a beautiful girl named Vivienne.

  • Nichelle has water broke and she along with Hondo are going to the hospital.
  • Victor Tan finally reinstates his job as LAPD. However, it has become clear that his opportunities for advancement are now severely limited.
  • This is the only mission in season 6 (i.e. from Chris's departure to the takedown of the Zamora cartel) where Zoe Powell and Alexis Cabrera simultaneously serve on 20 Squad. This is also Cabrera's last deployment with 20 Squad during that period.
  • At the end, Hondo and Nichelle has their daughter named Vivianne.
