Recap[]

Tan is getting a divorce after Bonnie cheated on him for six months. He found out about it and he kicked her out. Only she already had one foot out the door. Bonnie didn’t even try to work on the marriage or ask Tan to go to couple’s counseling, she wanted out. Tan gave her that out.

In the present, Tan and Bonnie are now putting their place up for sale. The realtor comments that the neighborhood might be a good place to have kids before the couple revealed they’re actually divorcing. After she leaves, Tan starts packing as Bonnie comments they are actually doing this. They were both supposed to be moving on, but suddenly Bonnie has had a change of heart, suggesting they reconcile. He questions this before realizing her lover dumped her and reconciled with his wife. She doesn't answer but her nervous look confirms it. Tan half-heartedly apologizes but immediately tells her that he doesn't want to be her consolation prize, just to ease her loneliness. Bonnie states that's not why she is doing this and is asking if he's willing to try. He asks Bonnie if her lover hadn't dumped her, would she still be asking or happily moved on with him. She admits she was on her own and couldn’t stand being on her own or living with the fact that she was going to walk away with nothing but that's not why she is running to Tan. She only asks him now for one more chance, voicing she loves him and her affair was a mistake, that she would do anything to atone for. Grabbing his hands, she pleads to Tan to consider while he looks at her and doesn’t have the heart to tell her “Hell no”.

Tan instead did something different, he told her he’d think about it. He wasn’t lying about that either. He actually thought about it and he started discussing it with Luca when Powell interrupted them. Powell overheard their conversation. She basically told Tan that he would be an idiot if he took Bonnie back. She was once married herself and her biggest regret was taking back her ex-husband after he cheated. He too claimed it was a one-time thing until he eventually did it again. Powell was now a firm believer that cheaters never change.

Luca was different. He thought differently. He believed a marriage could be saved if both sides were willing to work on it together. He was a bit of an optimist, but Powell wasn’t wrong and soon they got busy.

Some prison guard tried to kill another guard. Wilson tried to kill Hoffman. Wilson was forced into doing that after his family were kidnapped and he was told he had to kill Hoffman, or his family dies. Only Wilson didn’t do the job right. He ran over Hoffman while Hoffman was out on his morning run. He also planned on shooting only someone saw him and ran off scared before finishing the job.

SWAT easily tracked down Wilson. They found him at his house. He admitted to everything. He even told them why he tried to kill another guard and then he tried to kill himself because he thought there was no way he was going to get his family back. Hondo had to shoot him. Wilson was taken to the hospital. SWAT in the meantime chose to search for Wilson’s family. They found out both men worked at a women’s prison. Hoffman would get the prisoners whatever they wanted in exchange for rape and Wilson was the guard that stood guard to make sure they weren’t interrupted.

Wilson was known as Jesus at the prison because he likes to turn the other cheek. Wilson was later asked about that at the hospital. He said his wife has cancer and he couldn’t afford to lose his job and that’s what Hoffman was holding over his head. Hoffman held a lot of sway at the prison. Hoffman made sure to always find dirt on whatever woman was brave enough file a complaint against him. He made sure that they stayed in prison longer and so they put up with him. They played by his rules while he was in charge. And now one woman was getting justice.

Wilson said it was a woman with a man that took his family. It could have been a former prisoner. He doesn’t know because he never got a good look at their faces. After Hondo finished talking to Wilson, he was still at the hospital when he heard a woman kicking up a fuss because she demanded to know if Hoffman had been admitted. Hondo tried to talk to this woman. She ran when she saw him. She never found out about Hoffman, but she did get away and she sent a threatening message to Wilson to finish killing Hoffman or she was going to kill his whole family.

Powell was undercover at that prison a while back. She made a friend there. Her friend Nisa told her that Hoffman would check out girls for bible study that were actually rape sessions. Powell got a list of women from that bible study. She determined which was Latina. Which matched the height and weight of their perp. Her name is Marisa Lopez. She went to prison at fifteen for killing her stepfather who had been raping her since she was five. She then goes to prison where Hoffman set his sights on her. And that’s why she wants him dead.

They eventually found Wilson’s family once they realized they were being held at a former factory. Marisa’s brother used to work there and both he and his sister were arrested on sight. But it didn’t feel like a victory. Marisa was a victim herself. And while Hoffman will now face charges for the things he did to those prisoners, it only came out thanks to someone trying to kill him.

And Powell stopped being a woman of mystery. She admitted she had a little boy at fifteen. Her parents forced her to put him up for adoption and nowadays she prays for the chance her son will want to reach out to her. And Tan decided not to go back to Bonnie because Powell had been right about cheaters, and he knew he could never trust Bonnie again.
